Photography has been a passion of mine for decades. I am so grateful for the new technology of a small camera that can outdo many of the features on my large camera, and it's lightweight. I began with slides, and I still marvel at the ease of the digital world. Digital allows you to experiment with many different shots, and the cost is free, and the wait time until you see your photos is practically nil! If you're not sure if you should take that photo or not, my answer is - take it! Most of my photos are taken on the North Fork of Long Island, where I live. My wonderful parents taught me the beauty of nature. They taught me to see the beauty of the pattern in a leaf, the wonder of bugs and birds, the beautiful skies, and so on. I grew up on a farm, and without a television, (and no computers), so I learned how to be observant and creative at a young age.
One of my other interests is doing photo editing - do you have old photos that need some fixing up? Or, old negative prints that you need turned into positive digital photos? Or slides to be made digital?
Stones and shells from the nearby beaches have been an interest all my life. I assisted my father in making jewelry from the stones that we would first carefully select from the beaches, then he would polish them for weeks. Many years later, I have my own polisher and I am following in his footsteps - sometimes literally. I have been learning wire wrapping, and I also wrap shells and glass - whatever catches my eye and that I feel would make an attractive pendant.
I have many trail guides that I drew after hiking all the trails listed. I have created them for most of the trails on the North Fork of Long Island, and many others nearby.
Yet another passion is graphic work - designing flyers, posters, business cards, etc. Also, I can send you beautiful blank greeting cards with any of the photos you see on my website.
